A Week In The Life Of A Digital Content Creator

Having a Personal Style and Fashion Blog was in the beginning a form of expression and a hobby in some way, it allowed me to share my passion for fashion with other girls who, like me, have a love for trends and makeup. However, if I'm honest I never imagined that four years later (almost five - our anniversary is at the beginning of 2019) I could call it my job. And yes, oddly enough, nowadays you can make a living by creating content for the Internet. But, that is a topic that we can talk about at another time. For now, I want to share with you some of the work I do behind the scenes, that part is seldom or almost never seen in the photos or videos that I share on my platform. But that, without a doubt, is an essential part of this new profession that allows me to unite my passions.
For those who do not know, I studied Dramatic Art, and TV Script Writing. Careers that filled my heart with hope and dreams that to this day continue to beat strongly inside me. And for many years I devoted myself full-time to Theater and "traditional" Media. So, as you will understand, being in front and behind the camera is not something new for me, with the difference that now I have to be not only the talent, but also the creative director, stage director, manager, public relations and marketing representative. And although I count on the unconditional support from Mau, who is in charge of all the technical parts (lights, cameras, photos and record my videos) the work we do is really beautiful, but also exhausting. And like any work, it has its good side and from time to time there is stress as well.
But with the passing of the years and based on trial and error, we have learned how to make a better use of time, and how to be productive even in those days when creativity shines by its absence.
And one of the things that undoubtedly allows me to meet all my weekly and monthly production goals, is to dedicate a special time to organize myself. And when I say organization, I do not mean just using an agenda or marking dates and times in the calendar. But to plan in detail the topics that I want to talk about in my blog, my videos and social networks. Visualizing the content in a general way, leads to the next important step, which is to find the information I need to document my texts. Then, determine which photos and videos will be made at outdoor locations and which ones will be produced in our studio.
Another thing I do once or twice a week is to go buy the materials I need. Many times we need decorative elements or what Mau and I call support material, which allows us to give a special and more personal touch to our productions.
As you can see between one thing and another, the days are filled with lots of things to do (not to mention the events or trips that go hand in hand with everything we do.) And although I confess that creating content entertains us a lot, it is also true that sometimes coordinating administrative work, home duties, and couples life can seem like a lot to juggle. But luckily, there are options and tools that somehow make our life easier. And one of them, is that PayPal has joined Walmart, to provide us with great tools that make management of our finances in this digital age much easier and without complications. It allows PayPal users to access the money we have in our account and make transactions, such as add or withdraw money in any of the Walmart stores throughout the United States.
And something that I'm sure will please PayPal Cash Mastercard clients, is that in addition to being able to use your card wherever MasterCard is accepted, now you can also access your cash balance using Walmart service counters, ATMs and cash registers for the low rate of $ 3 per service.
They call it PayPal Cash In and Cash Out, one of my favorites options, that I use the most and that allows me to get the most out of time. Since, while I'm shopping for materials (fashion, beauty, make-up products) and why not, things for the home, I can also manage my finances.
As a Digital Content Creator, I am very aware of everything that happens in this 2.0 world that I love so much, and I am happy that there are new financial tools that can be adapted to any rhythm of life.

Tener un Blog de Moda y Estilo Personal fue en sus inicios una forma de expresión y de alguna manera un pasatiempo, que me permitía compartir mi pasión por la moda con otras chicas que al igual que yo tienen amor por las tendencias y el maquillaje. Sin embargo, si soy honesta jamás imaginé que cuatro años después (casi cinco- nuestro aniversario es a comienzos del 2019) podría llamarle mi trabajo. Y sí, aunque parezca mentira, hoy en día se puede vivir de crear contenido en Internet. Pero, ese es un tema del cual si quieren podemos hablar en otro momento. Por ahora, quiero compartir con ustedes un poco del trabajo que realizo detrás de cámaras, esa parte que pocas veces o casi nunca se ve en las fotos o videos que comparto en mi plataforma. Pero qué, sin lugar a dudas, forma parte esencial de esta nueva profesión que me permite unir mis pasiones.
Para las que no saben, yo estudié Arte Dramático, y guión para televisión. Carreras que llenaron mi corazón de ilusión y de sueños que hasta el día de hoy siguen latiendo con fuerza muy dentro de mí. Y durante muchos años me dediqué a tiempo completo al Teatro y a los Medios de Comunicación. Así que, como comprenderán esto de estar frente y detrás de cámaras no es algo nuevo para mi, con la diferencia de que ahora me toca ser no solamente el talento, sino también la directora creativa, directora escénica, representante de relaciones públicas y marketing. Y aunque cuento que el apoyo incondicional de Mau, quien se encarga de toda la parte técnica (luces, cámaras, fotos y grabar mis videos) el trabajo que hacemos es realmente hermoso, pero también agotador. Y como todo trabajo, tiene sus cosas buenas y sus cosas que de vez en cuando estresan.
Pero con el pasar de los años y a base de aciertos y de errores, uno va aprendiendo a cómo sacarle provecho al tiempo, y cómo ser productivo incluso en esos días en los que la creatividad brilla por su ausencia.
Y una de las cosas que sin lugar a dudas me permite cumplir con todos mis objetivos semanales y mensuales de producción, es dedicar un tiempo especial a organizarme. Y cuando hablo de organización, no me refiero al simple hecho de usar una agenda o de marcar fechas y horas en el calendario. Sino de planificar en detalle los temas de los cuales quiero hablar en mi blog, en mis videos y en mis redes sociales. Visualizar el contenido de forma general, da paso al siguiente paso importante, el cual es buscar la información que necesito para documentar mis textos. Para luego, determinar cuales fotos y videos se harán en locaciones exteriores y cuales se van a producir en nuestro estudio.
Ahí llegamos a otra de las cosas que hago una o dos veces por semana, ir a comprar los materiales que necesito. Muchas veces necesitamos elementos decorativos o lo que Mau y yo llamamos material de apoyo, que nos permite darle un toque especial y más personal a lo que hacemos.
Como pueden ver entre una y otra cosa, los días se llenan de actividades y cosas por hacer (sin mencionar los eventos o los viajes que van de la mano con todo lo que hacemos.) Y aunque les confieso que toda la parte de crear contenido nos divierte mucho, y que en lo personal me siento muy agradecida por cada oportunidad brindada. También es cierto, que a veces se nos complican los tiempos y hacer gestiones administrativas del trabajo, y coordinar las cosas del hogar y de pareja parecería cosas de malabaristas. Pero por suerte, existen opciones y herramientas que de alguna manera nos hacen la vida más llevadera. Y una de ellas, es que PayPal se ha unido a Walmart, para hacer que el manejo de nuestras finanzas en esta era digital sea mucho más fácil y sin tantas complicaciones. Ya que nos permite a los usuarios de PayPal acceder al dinero que tenemos en nuestra cuenta y hacer transacciones como de agregar o retirar dinero de forma exclusiva en cualquiera de las tiendas Walmart a lo largo y ancho de todos los Estados Unidos.
Y algo que estoy segura alegrará a los clientes de PayPal Cash Mastercard, es que además de poder utilizar su tarjeta en cualquier sitio donde se acepte ‘Mastercard’, ahora pueden también acceder a su saldo en efectivo utilizando los mostradores de servicio de Walmart, los cajeros automáticos y las cajas registradoras por la tarifa baja de $ 3 por servicio.
Ellos le llaman PayPal Cash In and Cash Out, y yo les digo que en este momento es una de las opciones que más uso y que me permite sacarle el máximo provecho al tiempo.
